Grand Hotel Belle Vue De Haan

description
The impressive Grand Hôtel Belle Vue in De Haan, built in Anglo-Norman style around 1900, recently underwent a thoughtful renovation. Designed on a near-triangular plan with symmetrical façades, corner towers, and distinctive half-timbering, the building is a landmark of Belgium's coastal heritage.
The restoration was carried out by Domus Arte. In the half-timbered sections, hemp blocks were installed and finished with Kalamua, a lime-hemp plaster from Saint-Astier. This natural material ensures excellent thermal and acoustic insulation while preserving the historical aesthetic of the building.
Thanks to this careful approach, Grand Hôtel Belle Vue remains a model of heritage conservation and sustainable building practice.
