Ingelmunster Castle
The impressive Ingelmunster Castle in West Flanders stands as a fine example of elegant classical architecture. Built on the foundations of a former medieval stronghold. Today, the Vanhonsebrouck family is undertaking preservation work, including the restoration of the roof, facade, and wooden joinery.
The façade renovation was entrusted to A. Vandendorpe, a specialist in heritage restoration. The window surrounds were meticulously repaired using Ecomortar R100 from Saint-Astier, a lime-based restoration mortar ideal for historical buildings. The entire façade was repointed with natural hydraulic lime (NHL 3.5) from Saint-Astier, offering excellent breathability and long-lasting performance. To finish, the window surrounds are being coated with RC Siloxcoat, a breathable, water-repellent façade coating that provides durable protection while preserving the castle’s authentic character.
