De Distilleerketel mill in Delfshaven, Rotterdam

Commissioned by the Stichting Restauratie Werkplaats Schiedam, Renorestauratie provided expert restoration advice for a section of the monumental windmill De Distilleerketel, located in the historic district of Delfshaven, Rotterdam. The color scheme was carefully coordinated with the Committee for Spatial Quality and heritage stakeholders, ensuring historically accurate restoration and visual harmony within the urban landscape.

Based on Renorestauratie’s recommendation, the project applied St. Astier Thermocromex, a breathable and durable lime render, color-matched to the original facade. The application was executed with craftsmanship by Elvee Stucwerk, a trusted partner of Renorestauratie. This heritage restoration project demonstrates how collaboration, technical expertise, and sustainable materials play a key role in preserving cultural heritage in the Netherlands.
