Rectory Saint-Odulphus Borgloon

description

South of the Saint Odulphus Church in Borgloon, a rectory was built in 1824 by pastor A. Wagemans on the site of a canon house that has now disappeared. This detached mansion, located behind the church, recently underwent a thorough façade renovation carried out by the renowned renovation company Conings N.V..

The joints of the façade were first carefully cut out and then repointed with RC Astivo, a hydraulically coloured (NHL 3.5) lime for a durable and authentic finish. After repointing, the joints were precisely finished with RC Calco, a “historic” lime paint ready-to-use.

For the restoration of the blue limestone, RC Amonit was used, a mineral mortar composed of ground natural stone (RC Amonit powder) and a mineral binder (RC Amonit liquid). This combination ensures a strong and durable repair of the limestone, preserving both the structure and aesthetics of the façade.
