Rectory Saint-Odulphus Borgloon
South of the Saint Odulphus Church in Borgloon, a rectory was built in 1824 by pastor A. Wagemans on the site of a canon house that has now disappeared. This detached mansion, located behind the church, recently underwent a thorough façade renovation carried out by the renowned renovation company Conings N.V. and Sven de Bock voegwerken.
The joints of the façade were first carefully cut out and then repointed with RC Astivo, a hydraulically coloured (NHL 3.5) lime for a durable and authentic finish. After repointing, the joints were precisely finished with RC Calco, a “historic” lime paint ready-to-use.
For the restoration of the blue limestone, RC Amonit was used, a mineral mortar composed of ground natural stone (RC Amonit powder) and a mineral binder (RC Amonit liquid). This combination ensures a strong and durable repair of the limestone, preserving both the structure and aesthetics of the façade.
