St. Lucia Chapel Meersel-Dreef

The historic Saint Lucia Chapel in Meersel-Dreef, a Gothic brick cross-shaped church with a distinctive open bell turret, has recently undergone a thorough façade renovation. This valuable heritage site was carefully restored to maintain its authentic appearance and protect it from further deterioration. The restoration work was carried out by PIT Antwerpen.

The process began with a deep cleaning of the façades using RC OS 2, a universal exterior cleaner that effectively removes dirt and deposits without damaging the structure. Subsequently, the old joints were carefully removed and rejoined with RC Astivo in the shade RC Astivo 116. This high-quality mortar seamlessly integrates with the original materials, providing a harmonious and durable finish. Thanks to this expertly executed restoration, the Saint Lucia Chapel remains a cherished historical landmark and a striking feature in the Meersel-Dreef streetscape.
